IEEE UofT is teaming up with Major League Hacking to bring you MakeUofT, Canada’s largest makeathon!

In this 24-hour event, you and your team will build a project of your choosing from scratch through the integration of hardware and software. Afterwards, you will present your project to a panel of industry judges to compete for prizes. This year, the theme for MakeUofT is connectivity - including bluetooth, radio, internet, and anything else you can think of!

Featuring workshops hosted by representatives from companies such as Microsoft, Twilio, and Telus, our makeathon caters to beginners and veterans alike. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from industry experts and gain hands-on technical experience!

Microservices? Cloud? Cloud-Native Development? We hear them often and they are everywhere in the industry these days. What are they? What's the deal with them? What are they for and why should you care? If you are interested or simply curious about any of these, come and join us. In this workshop, we will attempt to demystify and offer you a practitioner's perspective on what they are and why do they matter. You will have a chance to get your hands dirty and build your first Java microservice using Eclipse MicroProfile and Open Liberty, an open programming model and an open source application server for microservices, as well as to dive deeper into various aspects of microservices too!

The Hardware Certification Workshop is here! IEEE UofT invites students to participate in a unique workshop that will equip participants with practical knowledge of circuitry.

The workshop consists of an introductory lecture on basic circuitry followed by a hands-on lab session where you can construct and debug practical circuits such as H-bridges.

The workshop will be conducted by an experienced PhD student and a team of mentors that will help participants complete the lab exercises. Upon successful completion of the workshop, students will be awarded a certificate from IEEE.

Note that a $10 refundable deposit will be required to secure your seat. Hurry, there are only 50 spots!
