Israeli Startup Goji Is Planning the Oven of the Future
The fundamental technology behind microwaves and ovens has changed little throughout the past few decades. Microwave ovens don’t always heat food evenly, and conventional kitchen ovens take a long time. However, the technology startup Goji is planning to change that. Since 2006, the Goji team has been developing a next-generation oven which heats food from the inside using solid-state RF transmitters. Goji claims that this heating technology, combined with sensors to detect the status of food inside the oven, will allow food to be quickly and evenly heated. Goji aims to bring this technology to market in the next few years, and is not the only company planning to release solid-state RF ovens. The cooking appliance market may be in for a shakeup.
